Land of Maps

Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This privacy policy explains what information is collected when you visit landofmaps.com (the “site”), how it is used and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at info@landofmaps.com.

Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account and we do not ask for personal information to read the site. When you visit, standard technical information is processed automatically by our hosting and security providers, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This information is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand overall usage.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, which we use only to reply and keep a record of the correspondence.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The site itself does not set cookies for its own functionality. Advertising scripts are not loaded when a page first opens; they are requested only after you first scroll, tap or press a key. Third-party services that we use, in particular Google’s advertising services, may set and read cookies or use similar technologies such as web beacons and device identifiers.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Like the advertising scripts, the Analytics script is requested only after you first interact with a page (scroll, tap or key press). It uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect data such as your approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed and time on site. Google processes this data on our behalf. To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site, see How Google uses cookies in advertising and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Where required by law, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising is subject to your consent, which Google requests through its consent tools. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and secure the site.
  • To understand which pages are useful so that we can improve the library.
  • To display advertising that funds the site.
  • To respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email info@landofmaps.com. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Some pages link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
